Prerequisites

You should have visited the IMS Systems programming (IMS041) course, or have equivalent knowledge. Knowledge of IMS databases, IRLM and DBRC is required. (IMS002, IMS003)

Description

This course describes IMS data sharing concepts and explains how IMS uses the Parallel Sysplex to provide enhanced availability, enhanced capacity and to balance your workload. Guidelines how to implement and to operate an IMS Parallel Sysplex are part of the course as well.

Content

The course is structured to teach IMS Block Level Data Sharing for all relevant job tasks. It is primar­ily aimed for Parallel Sysplex implementations with IRLM. Necessary aspects of the relevant hardware and zOS facilities are covered to enable successful implementation of IMS BLDS.
