Scarcely any topic in the IT industry is as heavily loaded with emotion, reservation and prejudice as the realm of the 'Mainframe'. An inordinate number of studies and analyses with partially diametrically opposed statements appear and make it even more complex to analyse the available mainframe applications without bias and to assess their ability to integrate into the world of SOA.
Besides all the questions about the appropriate architecture there are also the questions on the feasibility, the cost, the complexity, and the duration of such projects – over and over again. The answers to those questions indicate whether the integration and the reuse of the existing applications is possible. The integration of different information systems and data sources is a habitually recurring challenge. Therefore it seems reasonable to compare the different solutions and to test the respective integrations in an existing IT landscape.
During this seminar we will examine the technical aspects and their realisations. Suppliers will present their integration and connectivity solutions on the basis of customer implementations. An exhibition complements the presentations.
